SURABAYA – INDONESIA’S CULTURAL
AND HISTORICAL EXPERIENCE
Foresight time in Surabaya – an introduction to the experience of the Bojonegoro Region. It is also time for relaxation and enjoying traditional Javanese massages, food, nature and surroundings.
We will settle into the Hotel Majapahit Surabaya, which has been operating for almost 100 years. The Prince of Belgium Leopold III, Princess Astrid of Sweden and actor Charlie Chaplin were at the grand opening of the hotel.
The hotel also has ties to Indonesian history.
Its name is connected with the Majapahit Empire – one of Java’s strongest empires which ruled from the XIII–XVI c.
In 1945, after reinstating Indonesia’s independence, the Indonesian flag was raised at the hotel building.
